I can see OCD in me when I was much younger, but I didnât know at that age that it was OCD. Looking back, I can see OCD in me when I was much younger, but I didnât know at that age that it was OCD. A fear of my hair (I had long hair) being contaminated bothered me quite regularly and I would wash it in the sinks at school, restaurants and home a few times a day when the OCD was especially strong. At the start of my OCD, I fought extremely hard to keep my schoolwork up to scratch, despite the fact my OCD was becoming more and more debilitating, and I managed to achieve straight A* grades in my GCSEs. Aside from the support available from your GP, psychologist and CBT therapist, there are also quite a number of OCD support groups around the country, These can be useful to meet other sufferers and gain mutual support. read more
