This study will evaluate a drug to determine if it is safe and effective in treating people diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. Each participant will be randomly assigned over four months to receive either the study drug or a non-medicinal placebo. Study related medical examinations and laboratory tests are provided at no cost. The drug is marketed as Xanax XR by Pharmacia and Upjohn. Impax said it plans to launch the product soon. Shares of Impax, which trade on the Pink Sheets, spiked to $11. read more
