Bents, an information technology specialist, was in her second-floor office of the Pentagon on Sept. Three years later, Bents was afraid to take the Metro or drive, afraid of terrorist bombs. Relatives say Bents was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and an anxiety disorder. Family members had to help Bents with her finances, refinancing her home and seeking the help of Sen. Medical experts and support group leaders say Bents’ troubles are not uncommon among those who survived the attacks.
